“Which DAW should I use?”
“Is FL better than Ableton?”
“Why does Logic look like a spaceship?”

And yeah — every DAW has its vibe.Some are made for beatmakers, some for scoring orchestras. Some look like a sci-fi control center, others feel like a cozy MPC. And everyone swears their pick is the “most intuitive.”

Spoiler: they’re all lying — because intuitive just means what you’re used to.

I’m Andy Malex. I’ve been producing since Reason had cables and Ableton didn’t have fades. My DAW of choice? Ableton Live.

Now here’s the fun part:
In my studio, I still run Live 9 Suite. On my laptop? I’m not even sure what version it is. Definitely not the newest. And you know what? I don’t care. It works.

The truth is: 
It’s not about the DAW. It’s about what you do with it. New features are great. But you don’t need 200GB of orchestral patches to write a melody. You don’t need ten compressors to make a kick drum knock. And you definitely don’t need the latest update to write something that makes someone feel.

DAWs are just instruments. Some prefer analog synths, some love mouse-clicking every note in a piano roll. Some love automation lanes, some love jamming with push controllers. Some want arrangement view. Others want patterns.

None of that matters unless it gets you into flow.

So here’s the rule:
Use the one that gets out of your way. Use the one that makes you open it and start doing, not tweaking. Use the one that doesn’t drain your energy just to set up a blank project.

If that’s Live 9 — great. If it’s FL, Logic, Bitwig, Cubase, Renoise, or GarageBand on your phone — also great. We’ve heard demos made in all of them.

You’d never know the difference — because the DAW isn’t the sound.

The one you actually open. The one that lets you finish something. The one that doesn’t give you an excuse to scroll forums instead of hitting bounce.
